Research
Certain aromas have a long history of opening one’s mind to the psycho-spiritual realm.
As a team, we are interested in exploring the use of scents to induce trance-like states in daily meditative practices. With the aim to create deep meditative experiences using scents, we looked at historic and modern cultrual practices.
Meditation
Shamanism is a practice that is historically associated with indigenous and tribal societies. It believes that shamans, with a connection to the otherworld, have the power to communicate with spirits and otherworldly beings. Shamanic traditions burn specific plants, trees and herbs to purify space and clear negative thoughts. Initial research on scents shows that frankincense, palo santo, sandalwood, copal, myrrh, and lavender can all be used to induce a trance-like, meditative state.
Making alien contact through meditation
The CE-5 is a meditation protocol which uses meditation as a baseline skill to contact extraterrestrials. Led by UFOlogist Steven Greer, positive intentions and focus are crucial. In contrast, fear, scepticism, or close-mindedness are the ingredients for failure.

Scent design
- Shaman
Ingredients:
lavender, elemis, nutmeg, pepper, saffron, amber, patchouli, vanilla, frankincense
A fresh and modern fine fragrance designed to open up the mind, and promotes feelings of being mentally balanced, grounded and receptive to new experiences and thoughts. It helps with focus, removes doubts, and prepares the mind to get ready for entering the trance state.
- Tera
Ingredients:
pepper, lemon, incense, sandalwoods, osmantis, ylang ylang
A scented candle inspired by silence in a Japanese temple. Rich and sensual. The fragrance is designed to quiet the inner noise and mental chatter and promotes the release of negative sentiments. This will enhance the quality of meditation, reaching a deeper trance state.
Experience design
Gong bath and CE-5 meditation protocal.
Going into deep states of meditation opens up one’s consciousness to the possibility of contact with beings from elsewhere in the universe. We have invited 34 participants to join an immersive meditation experience in Hyde park. Agenda:
- Scent to induce focus (Shaman) and deep meditation (Tera)
- Gong bath performance by sound expert Carlo Volpi
- CE-5 protocal developed by Dr Steven Greer to contact extra terrestrials
Product design
Shaman - Fine fragrance bottle design
Tera - Candle holder and installation design
